    Gynaecological Surgery in Lusaka

Gynaecological surgery covers operations on the womb, ovaries and pelvis, from diagnostic procedures to fibroid removal. Surgery is only recommended once the diagnosis is clear and less invasive options have been considered.

    Procedures we perform

Our theatre supports both diagnostic and treatment procedures for gynaecological conditions, planned with your symptoms, your diagnosis and your plans for pregnancy in mind.

    • Diagnostic laparoscopy for pelvic pain or infertility
    • Hysteroscopy to examine and treat the womb cavity
    • Removal of fibroids
    • Removal of ovarian cysts
    • Hysterectomy where appropriate

    Before surgery

Before any operation you have a consultation explaining what is planned and why, an anaesthetic assessment, and the pre-operative tests your case requires. Consent is a conversation about the procedure, its alternatives and its risks.

    Surgery and fertility

Where you want to conceive, that changes the surgical plan. Procedures are chosen to preserve the womb and ovarian function wherever it is clinically appropriate, and our fertility team is in the same hospital for planning.

    Recovery and follow-up

You recover in a private room with pain relief and nursing care, and you are discharged with wound-care instructions, activity advice and a follow-up appointment.
