Planned and emergency caesareans
A planned (elective) caesarean is scheduled in advance when there is a clinical reason a vaginal birth carries more risk. An emergency caesarean is done when a concern arises in labour. Both are performed in theatre by an obstetric team with anaesthetic support.
- Obstetrician-led surgical delivery
- Anaesthetic assessment before the procedure
- Newborn assessment immediately after birth
- Neonatal support in the same hospital if needed
- Private room for recovery with your baby
