Telehealth Notice
Where Sali International Women's Hospital offers remote (telehealth) consultations, we do so in alignment with the HPCZ Telehealth Services Guidelines.
What telehealth covers
Selected follow-up consultations, results review, and information conversations may be available remotely. Telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies, definitive diagnostic procedures requiring physical examination, or initial assessments where in-person evaluation is clinically required.
Identity verification & consent
Patients participating in telehealth confirm their identity, agree to the consultation format, and consent to clinical records being kept of the encounter.
Jurisdiction
Telehealth services are provided from Lusaka, Zambia, by practitioners registered with the HPCZ. Where a patient is located outside Zambia, the consultation is informational only unless cross-border arrangements are formally established.
Prescribing limits
Remote prescribing is limited to circumstances where it is clinically safe and lawful. New medications requiring physical examination cannot be prescribed remotely.
Privacy & records
Telehealth interactions are documented in the patient's clinical record. Confidentiality is maintained in line with our Patient Confidentiality Statement.
Emergencies
Telehealth must not be used for emergencies. For urgent care call +260 966 498 532 or attend your nearest emergency facility.
